May writes to Ethel "I went to the headquarters at 10-30pm to see Frank and David go,they were both in good spirits."

During the period that Frank served in France and Belgium he almost always used a pencil when writing Post Cards and his Diary.

Over the passage of time this writing has become too indistinct to copy.

Some parts we were able to copy as they were written in ink.
