staffordshiresoldiersgreatwar: I was born in Tipton Staffordshire in 1928 and at the age of two years moved with my family to Burnley, followed by a further move to Exeter in 1935. I attended Ladysmith school and then the Technical School and in 1944 I joined the Rediffusion Company, then two years national service with R.E.M.E in Germany. I returned to Rediffusion and remained with them till being made redundant.
